Film Festivals

laurel-leaves-white3

Echelon Studios encourages all filmmakers to enter as many film festivals worldwide that are appropriate for their film as this helps generate all kinds of free "buzz" and publicity.  This is extremely important as it helps generate interest in the film and gets people to talk about your film on blogs and this in turn turns into sales.  Below are just a few links to film festivals worldwide and we update links on subsequent pages by date for you to access.

Wishing you all much success on the festival circuit!

Echelon Studios highly recommends that you get as much exposure for your film by submitting your independent film or short to as many film festivals around the world that you have time for.  All publicity (positive or negative) for your film is good publicity!  Whenever your film is linked to any search engine through either a review or article then this helps create interest in your film on an international level.  Echelon Studios can then use the added publicity to help promote your film to our buyers and create a “buzz” so to speak.  There are a number of websites that promote film festivals such as www.filmfreeway.com or www.withoutabox.com.  Check them out and submit your film for consideration.  Don’t let anything but fear stop you!    Here are some upcoming film festivals you might be interested in:

Dear FilmFestival buyers and distributors,

In the last month or so, we’ve attended both The Festival de Cannes and The LA Film Festival and the response to Festpicks has been overwhelming.

I’d like to take this time to thank those who gave invaluable feedback to us and to invite those we didn’t get to personally, to email us for more information.

Here are some answers to the questions asked:

What is Festpicks?

A new streaming site designed for films that have been in film festivals (size doesn’t matter!)

What is the cost?

It’s free. We will transcode from mp4, QuickTime, etc.

You send us the film file, poster, synopsis and the trailer. We do the rest. Quarterly statements are sent out with details of viewing time, etc.

Is it a revenue share model?

Yes. It’s a 30/70 split with 70% going to the distributor on a single view transaction basis.

Can you block territories?

Yes. We can block territories where you don’t have distribution rights.

Do you want an exclusive deal?

No. We are a platform. Use other platforms too. If you want to take your film down, you can do so at any time.

How long can our films stay on your site? What is the term?

Your film library can stay with us in perpetuity. Our goal is to ensure that festival/ independent films do not disappear, unlike other platforms. This is a wonderful service to offer your filmmakers.

So, please email or call for more information. If you are a distributor/buyer, we can give you another outlet for distribution of your clients’ films. As a filmmaker, that’s what I like to hear!

Best,
