Echelon Studios Unveils 2024 Official Film Festival Selection

Echelon Studios has announced the line-up for its inaugural film festival

Echelon Studios has revealed its preliminary film selection together with its industry program for its upcoming opening edition, taking place from July 7 to 14 in Los Angeles.

The program will present 42 films in its competition, selected from over 300 submissions.

The competition includes Roswell Delirium from director Richard Bakewell and featuring Anthony Michael Hall (The Breakfast Club) and Dee Wallace (E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial); Babette + Fontaine from directors John-Carlos Estrada and Zak Zeh, starring RuPaul’s Drag Race Cynthia Lee Fontaine; and Losing Grip from director Steven Nye, starring Olympian Shane Wiskus.

Additionally announced titles include His Name Is Ray directed by Michael Del Monte, which previously opened at Toronto International Film Festival; The Ballad of Tita and the Machines from director Miguel Angel Caballero which featured in the Tribeca Film Festival; Who’s Annie from director Sophia Peer which was part of SeriesFest; Superman Doesn’t Steal from director Tamika Lamison which featured in Dances With Films; and Valley of Souls from director Santiago Dellape.

More titles are expected to be announced shortly, with this year’s jury awarding prizes for Best US Feature, Best US Short, Best International Feature, Best International Short, Best Documentary and Best Series.

All entries will be available to screen on Eventive from July 7, 2024.

Commenting on the program, Festival Director Jesse Randall said: “We are thrilled to present this year’s film festival, showcasing a truly outstanding selection of films. The caliber of entries is incredibly high, and we can’t wait for audiences and jurors alike to experience these remarkable stories on the big screen.”

The festival’s program also features a series of educational panels with industry experts around independent film distribution to support filmmakers in navigating the festival circuit and planning future projects.
